@HOME in Curaçao: Convenient working & living

Working remotely has become the new normal

More than half of the global workforce is currently working remotely, and companies have announced that they would let employees work remotely in the foreseeable future. We have seen a significant shift in global trends (also largely due to COVID-19) in how we work.

The government of Curaçao and the Curaçao Tourist Board grasped this opportunity and introduced the ‘@HOME in Curaçao’ program. This initiative welcomes travelers from all around the world looking for a temporary home away from home. The program accommodates remote workers, extended-stay visitors, and investors, allowing them more accessible access to Curaçao. Our role in this program was to develop the name and logo, a general look and feel, a tone of voice, the website and content, PR and campaign materials.

The program’s development depended significantly on what kind of online environment we wanted to create for a potential digital nomad packing their bags and building their second home in Curaçao. Therefore, we started with a name that would connect a few things. We wanted to portray the feeling of being at home in a safe, pleasant, friendly, yet cosmopolitan environment. Somewhere where you have the opportunity to work productively behind a laptop, all the while being able to look up at the beautiful blue sea and enjoy the warm tropical climate of Curaçao.

So, we came up with the name ‘@HOME in Curaçao’ to encapsulate all of those feelings. The program needed to be attractive to not only remote workers but also hibernators and investors. ‘@HOME in Curaçao’ had to speak to the feeling you get from living and working in Curaçao and creating a home away from home.

An accessible website for every target group

Aside from the name, we also developed the website athomeincuracao.com. Here, our goal was to create an attractive online environment for each target group. Also, we ensured that the website was informative, concise, and user-friendly, making it accessible for all individuals to use. Considering the plethora of information fueled by rules and regulations for all target groups, we created a FAQ page and clear directions for applying for each of the permits.

We also conducted a PR launch to gain national and international traction and introduced the ‘@HOME in Curaçao’ program to print and online titles. The launch successfully led to a wide exposure in Europe, the US and some specific remote-workers media.
