Last year, Curaçao proudly received several prestigious titles and awards which could be a great source of inspiration for your next trip! Booking.com ranked Curaçao in the top 10 ‘trending destinations for 2025’, and the American Caribbean Journal even named the island the "Caribbean Destination of 2025". They also highlighted Baoase Luxury Resort as one of the coolest places to stay in 2025, and USA TODAY recommended restaurant Kome in Willemstad as a must-visit Caribbean dining spot. But that’s not all, Willemstad’s harbor was crowned as "Cruise Port of the Year 2024", making it an even more attractive destination for travelers.

Joining forces for coral reef protection

Curaçao is renowned for its vibrant underwater world and colorful coral reefs, which play a crucial role in the marine ecosystem. To help preserve them, various initiatives have been launched on the island, including a new partnership between the Curaçao Marriott Beach Resort and the Reef Renewal Foundation. The hotel sponsors the organization, joining forces to support coral conservation. Next to that, they have developed a coral nursery to promote coral growth and offer special eco-tours in collaboration with diving school Goby Divers. Every Tuesday, hotel guests can join a guided snorkeling tour to learn more about coral conservation.

Art fans can enjoy some new artwork soon, as Sling will create an authentic mural at Renaissance Mall & Rif Fort to celebrate the new partnership.

Carnival on Curaçao

It’s time for the biggest cultural event of the year on the island: Carnival! A celebration where everyone comes together, and vibrant parades, traditional music, and dance fill the streets. The official opening parade took place on January 11th. Over the coming months, several official (and unofficial) events will happen, like the Tumba Music Festival, the election of King, Queen, and Pancho, the horse parade, and much more.
